Time for the
holidays again. Time to reflect on the events
of this past year. Time to relax with
friends and family. It's also time for
Christmas shopping and partying, which unfortunately
leads to more impatience and aggravation on the roads as
well as an increase in drinking and
driving. Below are the Georgia accident and
fatality statistics for 1998 (1999 stats are not
available
yet). Last year, there were a total of 293,258
accidents on Georgia's roadways, which resulted
in
133,043 injuries, and 1,579
deaths. These numbers represent lives
ended and lives forever
changed. Tardgirl and I sincerely wish everyone joy
and happiness for the holidays, and peace
