All things eventually come
to an end, and it is with mixed emotions that,
after close to five years of publishing this website, I announce that I
will
no longer be updating it on a regular basis. Life has changed over
the
last five years. I work from home most of the time now, which
means I
don't spend very much time on the road, and this in turn translates into
fewer opportunities to capture original content. One might think
that I
have more time on my hands now that I work from home the majority
of the time, but the opposite is true. I now have less time in my
life for
hobbies than I have ever had before. This combination of less time
and
less content simply makes it untenable to continue with this website at
present time.
I have had fun publishing
this website over the past five years. I started
this website as a bit of a joke -- I wanted to see how many people I
could
piss off just for the fun of it. Much to my surprise, the positive
responses
I received greatly outnumbered the negative ones, and I soon realized
that
I had developed a loyal and regular following to this website. I
want to let
all of you who fall into that category know how flattered and honored I
am
by your patronage over the years, and I thank you all sincerely.
I'm glad
I was able to make you laugh over the years. I've used this
website to
express grief and outrage on occasion as well, like in February of 2001,
when I shared with you my experience of watching a mother and her
infant child burn to death in their car after a horrendous early morning
accident. I thank you all for sharing my sorrows as well as my
offbeat
sense of humor.
As for my detractors -- let me make it clear that I'm not actually
taking
this website down. This website will remain for an indefinite
time. People
will still be able to browse through all the content I've amassed over
the
past five years. Yes, that's right, this website's existence will
continue
to be a thorn in your side, so 'nyah nyah!' to all of you!
Drive safely, everyone. I'm outta here!
